McAllister provides an overview of the recently published approach proposed by Waymo for the determination of absence of unreasonable risk for autonomous driving. Specifically, he dives into Waymo’s layered approach to safety and presents an overview of a number of system safety approaches that inform Waymo’s readiness determination prior to the deployment of the Waymo Driver.
